This week, I want to talk about setbacks.

We all have good days and bad days, and sometimes those bad days feel like they outweigh the good. No matter how disciplined or dedicated you are, those days still happen. And honestly? That’s just part of being human.

I’ve definitely had a setback this season — a 12-pound one. I know exactly what happened. I chose the easy option a few too many times. Stress from work, daily responsibilities, and life in general made convenience feel like the only option in the moment. There’s no big excuse here. Sometimes life is just… life.

The key isn’t pretending it didn’t happen or beating yourself up about it. The key is getting back on track.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned on this journey, it’s that perfection isn’t realistic. It never was. Progress is about recognizing when you’ve gone off course, understanding why, and making the choice to correct it. That’s it.

Think of it like driving. You veer off the road a little — it happens. You don’t turn around and quit the trip. You straighten the steering wheel and keep going. That’s exactly what I’m doing now, and honestly, it’s my gift to myself this year.
